Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek is in Annapurna region which is north-central part of Nepal. Ghorepani and Ghandruk are the two separate villages Development Committee. Ghorepani is famous for rhododendron forest as well as the fantastic panoramic sunrise, sunset view from Pun Hill 3210 meter which is one hour climb from Ghorepani. Ghandruk is a popular tourist place for treks in Annapurna area of Nepal, with easy trails and various accommodation possibilities, Gurung culture, Monastery, best views to Annapurna mountains including beautiful massif view of Machhapuchhare, call "Fishtail".
Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek offers the spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages inhabited particularly by the Gurungs, Poon & Magars, dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurna's with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Peak) dominating the skyline. One of the important highlight of this trip is to make a climb on Pun Hill, possibly the most spectacular mountain scrapes on Earth. When sunrises, it touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks, there gradually appear, just like magic that your eye could not believe. Beautiful and ornate village of Ghandruk, home to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project. Here you have a chance to visit the project to discover at first hand the conservation work being carried out. There is Gurung Museum, Monastery is interesting to visit.
Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek or call Poon Hill Trekking, start from beautiful tourist capital Pokhara after one day drive or 25 minutes fly from Kathmandu. Naya Pul mean new bridge is the originally starting or ending point of Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek. The famous of Ghorepani treks is Gurung tropical village Ghandruk, where can be reach one day trekking from Pokhara. After three days trekking bring you the panoramic sunrise view from Poon Hill and continue two days walk to NayaPul and one and half an hours drive to Pokhara.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
A Moktan Adventure representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in nearby Thamel.
Day 2: Kathmandu City Tour and Flight to Pokhara.
One of expert tour guides will whisk you around the cultural, religious and historical sites of Kathmandu. We will take you to Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swyambhunath and Patan Durbar Square. A late afternoon flight will take you to Pokhara where you will stay the night in a hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Nayapul (1010m/1.5 hours) and trek to Tikhedunga. (1570m/3.5hours.)
After our breakfast, we take an early morning drive to Nayapul and the starting point of our trek. We follow the River Bhurungdi east, passing lowland rice fields, local villages and a small waterfall. We reach Tikhedunga and our teahouse for the night.
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani (2860meters/5 hours.)
A strenuous day today as we climb 3300 stone steps to Ulleri, from here we will have magnificent views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, later in the trek we will also see Fishtail Mountain so get your cameras at the ready! After you have conquered the thousands of steps, the trail becomes easier as we pass Banthati and walk through the rhododendron forest. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 5: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m/1.5 hours) and trek to Tadapani. (2660m/4 hours.)
An early morning hike to the top of Poonhill will reward you with spectacular sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Take time here to soak up the tranquil atmosphere and make sure to take plenty of photos for everlasting memories of this idyllic place. After breakfast we descend to Tadapani through pine and rhododendron forests. Overnight in teahouse.
Day 6: Trek to Ghandruk. (1940m/4hours.)
We start the day on flat ground to Bhaisi Kharka before a steep descent to Ghandruk. Ghandruk offers sensational views of Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Annapurna South and Himchuli. Even more photo opportunities for you to capture these graceful giants. While you are staying in Ghundruk, a trip to the local monastery and Gurung meseum are well worth a visit.
Day 7: Trek to Nayapul (1010m/4 hours) and drive to Pokhara. (850m/1.5 hours).
A gentle descent back to Nayapul following the Modi River and a short drive to Pokhara. Another night in a hotel in this colorful, lakeside town. If you wish to stay any extra nights here to visit the peace pagoda, take a boat out on the lake or just to relax in the many restaurants and cafes, then we can arrange this for you.
Day 8: Drive back to Kathmandu. (1350m/6 hours.)
We take a tourist bus back to the capital here you will have the afternoon to yourself.
Day 9: Transfer to international airport for your final departure.
A Moktan Adventure Representative will accompany you to the airport and bid you farewell.
