Jomsom Muktinath trek is situated North of Pokhara, Nepal's spectacular diversity appears at its finest The deep valleys and high mountains encircling the giant Annapurna Himal embrace a wide range of peoples and terrain, from subtropical jungle to a high, dry landscape resembling the Tibetan Plateau. This is the most popular trekking region, attracting over 75% of all trekkers (more than 30.000 annually). It's also among the tamest areas, with excellent lodges lining the main routes. Finding Nepal beneath the flood of trekkers can be difficult, but the scenery and culture are top-notch, and you can avoid the peak-season crush and still get fine weather and views.
The views of the mountains are spectacular, and the route actually crosses to the other side of the main Himalayan range for some unusual views of the northern flanks.
Jomsom Muktinath trek takes you along the Kali Gandaki to Muktinath on the border of Mustang, as the Himalayan Shangri-la. As you hike through the Kali Gandaki Valley, passing through the deepest gorge in the world; Jomsom Muktinath trek finally emerges into the wide valley of Jomsom, a Himalayan Shangri-la. Embarking the trek from Nayapul , the trail passes over the Ghorepani pass and descends down to Kali Gandaki valley. The views from the first rays of the sun at the break of dawn grace the pinnacles of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna from Ghorepani, creating a landscape that is absolutely magnificent to consider. Along the route, fascinating traditional villages of Gurung, Magar & Thakali will keep you enthralled day after day as you hike along the way. Jomsom Muktinath Trek is indeed a classical trek, essentially the final third of the Annapurna Circuit, follows the Kali Gandaki Valley between the soaring peak of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Finally, it emerges to the north of the main Himalayan range, on the dry, desert - like Tibetan Plateau. A several days walk beyond Jomsom, takes you the final destination, Muktinath, the sacred temple. Jomsom Muktinath trek allows access to the high mountains of the Himalayas within a reasonable time frame and without ascending to extreme altitude. You will then return to Pokhara by taking a flight from Jomsom.
